How to Reheat Baked Potato – 3 Different Ways

Healthy eating is important for a healthy life, but it can be hard to find the time to cook food every day. That’s why microwaves are so popular! They take just minutes to heat up your favorite foods. Unfortunately, microwaves are not great at reheating baked potatoes.

Here are some tips on how to reheat baked potatoes in the oven or on the stovetop that will have you enjoying this favorite side dish in no time!

Potatoes are one of the most versatile and convenient vegetables out there. You can add a potato to almost any dish and it will fit right in.

One of the most popular methods of cooking a potato is to bake it. Baked potatoes are easy to prepare, however, they are best enjoyed and hot.

But what if you have a potato that has gone cold? Well, you don’t have to worry about going through a complicated process to reheat it and enjoy it as if it was fresh.

How to Reheat Baked Potato – 3 Different Ways:

Here are a few different ways on how you can properly reheat a leftover baked potato. Having an already baked potato handy is a great thing to have in your fridge. Here’s how to reheat baked potato using the oven or microwave.

  1. In the Oven:

This is by far the best way to reheat your baked potato. It gives the potatoes a crispy skin and you also do not have to worry about the potato drying out.

Before placing the potatoes in the oven, you need to make sure that they are at room temperature. This will give you the best result.

Preheat the oven to 350–400 ° F and put your potato on a baking sheet. Now just bake for 15–20 minutes depending on the size of the potato and remove once they are heated to your liking.

You now have a perfectly good potato that tastes just as good as a fresh one.

  1. In the Microwave:

Yes, you can even reheat a potato in a microwave. Though, you do need to be a little careful otherwise you can dry out the potato. Luckily you can easily avoid that by just cutting the potato in half and placing a damp paper towel over each half.

You only need to microwave for a few minutes depending on the size of the potato. Usually, 2–3 minutes is good enough but if you feel like it is not hot enough, just microwave it a little more.

The downside to this method of course is that the skin will not be as crispy, so it is only recommended if you are in a hurry or just prefer the convenience.

  1. Over the Stove:

Another quick method to heat your potato is to do it over a stovetop. Heat some cooking oil on your pan over medium-low heat. While your cooking oil is heating up just cut the potatoes in half and place the cut side down.

Cover the pan with a lid, and let it simmer for 3–4 minutes. Flip the potatoes once they are heated through. You can also get a crispy skin by just heating the potato on all sides.

To Conclude:

And those are the three different ways to reheat baked potatoes. Each method has its own pros and cons, for the best results we would recommend using the first method but that is a little time consuming.

The other two methods are much quicker, and the microwave method is by far the most convenient. You can now choose which method you want to use the next time you have to reheat a potato.
